PureSurf science in RADAR: renewable aromatics to replace substances of concern

Our platform chemistry is part of RADAR, a €15M Horizon Europe innovation action developing safe, renewable aromatic compounds across Europe.

RADAR ("Renewable and safe Aromatic compounDs As Replacements for substances of concern") is a Horizon Europe Innovation Action coordinated by KU Leuven, bringing together 18 partners with a budget of €15.0M, running from December 2024 to November 2028.

Within RADAR, the green-chemistry science behind PureSurf, developed in the Barta group at the University of Graz, contributes scalable bio-based surfactants from lignocellulose, alongside an assessment of the environmental and socio-economic benefits of replacing conventional chemicals.

RADAR reinforces PureSurf's foundation: turning renewable aromatic building blocks into high-performance ingredients that displace substances of concern.

RADAR is co-funded by the European Union under Horizon Europe.
