PureSurf joins the BioInnovation Institute autumn 2026 cohort with first equity funding from XISTA
PureSurf is joining the BioInnovation Institute (BII) autumn 2026 cohort, among 17 startups in BII's largest intake ever, with first equity funding and support from XISTA Science Ventures in Austria.
Something has been brewing since January 2026. Now we can finally come clean.
PureSurf is joining the BioInnovation Institute (BII) autumn 2026 cohort and receiving our first equity funding from XISTA Science Ventures.
What started as a bold idea at University of Graz, making surfactants not just bio-based and sustainable, but better, has now earned us a spot among 17 startups in BII's largest intake ever, with support from XISTA in Austria.
At PureSurf, we're rethinking how the chemical industry sources its core ingredients: delivering surfactants that outperform traditional benchmarks, are less toxic, and are made from renewable resources. Our goal? To make the switch to bio-based a no-brainer for manufacturers, no compromise, just better results.
Alongside funding, this brings access to BII's acceleration programme, investor network and industry partnerships, helping us take our chemistry from the lab into industrial use.
Thank you to BII, XISTA, our partners, and everyone who believed in PureSurf's mission.
